You Can’t be a Student For Your Whole Life

I have a friend who can’t seem to decide what she wants to be, but thinks that whatever it is, she needs to go to school for it. After going to the local junior college for a couple of years, she decided she wanted to be a crime scene investigator - so she took the course that college offered and got certified or whatever it’s called. She applied to a couple of police departments, but before she ever heard back, she changed her mind and decided what she really wanted to do was help people while they were still alive - so she took a year long nursing course. She’ll be graduating from that in a month or so.

What’s she doing now? Talking about how she’s always loved to draw, and that instead of getting a nursing job, she thinks she might wanna go to animation school so she can make films like Toy Story. Man! I have no problem with people doing what they love for a career, but I think she should stop taking courses and just go out and get a job. That would be a much cheaper way to find out what she likes and what she’s good at. Once she knows, then she can start taking animation courses or whatever.
