350 Miles Per Gallon From A Car
In the 1970’s, Shell Co. sponsored a fuel efficiency best gas mileage vehicle contest which saw a converted 1950’s Opel drive away with the trophy for producing approximately 350 miles per gallon. This phenomenal feat was also recorded in the Guiness book of world records. After selling the vehicle, the Opel was relegated to being a museum piece in a race museum in Florida. Until recently, the existence of the car was virtually unknown until a vehicle tycoon from California saw it. The car is now out of the museum and is transferred to the vehicle tycoon’s garage. It is currently being put up for auction. Here’s hoping that oil companies don’t buy the car.
