Manufacturing Job Not Spared
I recently got laid off from my job in manufacturing. I worked at the plant for 14 years, and thought I had job security. But, then they announced that since times were so hard, and demand had been steadily decreasing, that they were going to lay off half of the workforce. There are people there who have worked there fro their entire adult lives, so I was not spared. I am looking at going through a special Welding Inspector Course here in Virginia. Even though the market for house building is way down, commercial properties that require welding certification are always being built.
