Reaching my goal of becoming a private investigator
I never imagined for a moment that well known phrase, "no pain-no gain" would apply to studying to become a private investigator. No one told me that I would have to be fit to become a PI, especially since as an ex Marine, I am. What they meant was that I would have to put in 6,000 hours of accredited work in the field before I could sit down and take the examinations required for my certificate. I don't know what they meant by pain, as I found these hours enjoyable and thought provoking. Turns out that hours put in with your own thoughts is one of the things that can make you a good investigator. There is no better teacher than practical experience. When you want to reach a goal, you have to make a plan and get going on it, pain and all.
