Thinking About Charitable Remainder Unitrusts

Saturday, June 7th, 2008

I’d really like for my estate not to end up in the hands of the IRS. So I’m checking out
Charitable Remainder Unitrusts. Looks like a good potential way to go.
I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about Living Trusts in particular. Frankly, the more I can give to the humane society, and the less to the IRS, the better.
Now comes the difficult part: informing my family of my decision. They’re all well provided for, of course, but they will object anyway.
Until next time.

Regarding Charitable Remainder Trusts

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

I don’t have anyone to leave my money to, really, so I’m thinking that a
Charitable Remainder Trusts would be a good option for me.
Everything I have read about
Charitable Lead Trusts makes me thing that this is a good idea. I’d hate to see the bulk of my estate end up in the hands of the IRS.
I have a number of charities I’d like to support, so the next step is to figure out how the funds will be divided up.
Until next time.

Submarine Patent

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

This is supposed to be the first patent, which was granted.  It is said that it took the longest time for this submarine patent application to have been published.  In addition, when it was finally granted, everybody from the patent attorneys in san antonio was taken aback.

This patent took a back seat when the TRIPS agreement was signed between the WTO and the US in 1995.  From then on, the terms of this patent are measured from the date of the application being filed and not from the date of the patent being issued.  Therefore, the delay in granting the rights can lead to loss of rights.

Changes among Patent Holders

Friday, February 8th, 2008

If you are asking what this means; you are not alone! I am actually talking about fights, disagreements and deaths among groups of inventors who have a patent on their invention.

Under United States laws if more than china intellectual property one person is involved in inventing something, each person holds separate patents. If there is a fight or falling out between patent holders; they can sell or give away their own patent rights.

This same thing applies to the death of a patent holder; their heirs can hold onto the patent or decide to sell or give it away. Confusing, isn’t it?

Distinctiveness In Terms Of Patent Laws

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

Patent protection is the strongest and most dependable shield available to the inventors today. But one gets a patent only when the distinctiveness of one's product is beyond question.

Therefore, analysis of what laws distinctiveness means in terms of patent laws has to be undertaken before you apply for patent. This would ensure that your patent application goes through smoothly. Patent protection ensures that the inventor reserves the right at least for limited period of time, after which the product may come in public domain.

Finding a Criminal Record is Easy

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

It is now quite easy for any employer to have access to a job applicant’s  criminal record  there is not all that much effort involved nowadays and all that an employer will have to do is have the human resource department conduct a background check or contract a private detective agency to do the same. In any case, the applicant’s name will be checked against other entries in a database to check if there are any criminal records or any kind of evidence of behavioral patterns which indicate to an employer unsuitability for hiring.

Public Defense Attorneys

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Your criminal defense attorney can approach the prosecutor with plenty of ammunition that in many cases will allow him to reduce your charges and possibly even get them dropped without ever facing a jury of your peers. It's wise to do everything in your power to avoid having a felony charge haunt you for the rest of your life and the wisest thing you can do is hire an experienced defense attorney st. louis.  Public defenders are no substitute for criminal defense attorneys.  There's a reason certain lawyers are public defenders.  They need to start somewhere and gain experience so they can possibly go into private practice in the future and charge the big bucks.

sarbanes oxley and the American financial market.

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

The credit for the introduction as well as the implementation of the  sarbanes oxley  act goes to two senators of the House: Paul Sarbanes and Michael Oxley. Such was their contribution that the legislature was named after them in honor of their efforts and their involvement to promote the welfare of the American financial market. The sarbanes oxley act was basically introduced in order to reduce the frequency of financial scandals plaguing the American market.  The legislature is aimed mainly at the publicly owned corporations; thus the privately owned businesses are not required to comply with its regulations.

Sarbanes Oxley Act 404

Monday, December 31st, 2007

The sarbanes oxley act 404 has also made it necessary for auditors to follow the new standard no. 5 to understand the Information Technology related aspects. This was so that they could identify the points where financial irregularities may take place. Sarbanes Oxley Act 404 now asks that the new standard 5 auditors perform fraud risk assessments which are considered to be rather a gray area in auditing. Failure to ensure sarbanes oxley act compliance can lead to auditor being punished along with management.
