medical assistant training online

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

There are some things that need to be considered when choosing a medical assistant training program. You’ll need to decide whether you would like to attend a shorter program that results in a certificate or whether you would like a longer program that goes more deeply into things and leads to an associate’s degree. You’ll also need to consider whether you want to physically attend an institution or whether there is the option to do the medical assistant training online. You also need to consider the location, cost, whether or not financial aid is available, what prerequisites are needed, whether an externship is involved and what you need to do to meet this requirement.

What does a paralegal do?

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Lawyers are professionals who take ultimate responsibility for the particular legal work of a client. However, they are often assisted in their tasks by their paralegal assistants. Now, you must be wondering as to who is a paralegal? Or what does a paralegal do? Paralegals are the legal assistants of lawyers who perform almost the same tasks as that of a lawyer. But their tasks are restricted in the sense that they do not have the authority to give legal advice or present cases in the court. This forms the paralegal definition for a layman.

I Know Nothing - Database Administrator Roles

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

Keeping with family tradition, both of my brothers have gotten degrees in computer science. I constantly tease them about being nerds, but the truth is, they have done very well for themselves. One of my brothers is a database administrator who made an attempt to explain to me database administrator roles and responsibilities.

If I’m being honest with myself, I had no idea what he was talking about. I can talk all day about how to use a computer and can open up virtually any program and use it correctly, but start talking to me about SQL and sever security and I’m completely lost.

The Nursing Vacancies Must Be Filled

Monday, September 8th, 2008

One thing that is causing U.S. goverment a great deal of concern these days is the state of the health care industry. And at the top of the list for most alarming is the growing trend of nursing vacancies that is taking place. While the population is growing older and living longer the number of nurses is shrinking. Perhaps one way to address this issue is to have more grants for education available for people who wish to pursue this career. It is a very difficult very high paying. And due to the actual care they give perhaps it should pay more.

Are Actuarial Jobs Listed Anywhere Online?

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

I am going to be graduating from college this spring with a bachelors degree in actuarial science. I want to start looking for a job sometime in the near future, but I am not quite sure how to go about it. Would entry level actuarial jobs be listed somewhere online? Can I use the regular generic search engines in order to find this type of position? Or is there somewhere else I can go online that would be better? I am planning to go talk to career services to find out what they can do for me, but I wanted to get an idea of what is out there.

Are Online Culinary Degrees Possible?

Monday, August 4th, 2008

With the online schooling craze really picking up steam, many people with a wide variety of career goals are starting to wonder whether they can complete their degrees online, as well. For instance, are online culinary degrees available? Usually, they are not, at least, not to get a complete training as a chef, for instance. Although you can get a lot of your coursework out of the way with online classes that help with the management side of running a kitchen, there simply is no substitute for cooking a dish in person, with the help of an instructor.

Monday, August 4th, 2008

I’ve had some tragedy in my family. More than any one family should have. I’ve spent much more time in hospitals than one should have. I have become familiar with many medical personnel, from doctors, attending doctors, nurses and countless others. The one who rarely gets any recognition is the surgical technologist. They are the ones behind the scene, taking care of all the details. Making sure the life saving surgery goes well. I want to take this opportunity to thank all those surgical technologists out there who are doing their jobs. Thank you for doing a great job! You are appreciated.

Dental Hygienist Courses

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

A large number of high school diploma holders these days are attracted into dental hygienist courses due to the flexible work schedule enjoyed by a dental hygienist. As specialists in preventative oral health care, dental hygienists can work full-time or part-time, in the evenings or only on weekends. According to surveys, most dental hygienists work only part-time - practically less than 35 hours every week! Besides, they also have the freedom to work in more than one dental office. This is because dentists usually hire hygienists for only two or three days in a week.
