Saturday, February 2nd, 2008Their we were, under the hood again. Just like old times, yet with the motor hidden under all of those hoses, you could barely see it at all. It seemed only yesterday that we would swing a spanner under a hood, fixing something -six -straight block. Change the carby for a Holly or similar, get a carby kit & change the gaskets. Etc Etc. Then there was the time that we dropped a Toyota Corolla four into that mini …. And had to machine a super short diff to suit. But did it GO!. We went on to discuss the latest engines for his correspondence game with a dude in the USA. It seemed that his engines were a little better than the one my friend was using. I still prefer my old friend, REBEL, from the land of DE. This old favourite seemed to work well, even though FRITZ, which was the one my friend, had on his computer, was the latest version. We had taught his son the virtues of 3D chess, with BATTLE CHESS, a nice gory 3D version, that most boys would love to play.
I still remember the time that I changed the Engine in my LandRover, changing it from the original Small 4, to a Holden straight 6. But that's another story.
