Doctoral Studies For Higher Learning

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

Doctoral studies are often confused with people that are medical doctors. You might be surprised to learn that it does not have anything to do with medicine at all. Having your doctorate is simply a matter of going to college for enough years that you are able to earn that specific degree. Just as an individual who goes to college for four years is often said to have their associates degree. Having a doctor on the end of your name simply means that you were able to go to college, regardless of what field of study you decided to attend four.

As a general rule, those completing a landscape design masters program will go onto careers as landscape designers specializing in residential and smaller scale projects. A lot of schools have structured their post graduate programs so that professionals can complete the coursework during weekday evenings and on Saturdays, therefore causing minimum disruption to their work life. It will vary from institution to institution, but students could generally expect that a post graduate course would cover the following areas: Gardening and landscape design history; plant materials; technical elements such as drafting, graphic representation and landscape construction, as well as an internship.

Why Don’t Online Law Degree Programs Get More Respect?

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

Or rather, respect from the American bar Association? People, who do not have time to attend on campus classes in between work and life but still have an inclination towards getting a law degree, can possibly achieve that through online degree programs. The emphasis is on convenience, not ease. People have personal lives to lead, and jobs to keep. Not only that, if colleges are so determined to bastions of progressive thought and encourage saving the environment, why would they not encourage students go online, which would save both gasoline and paper? To me, an online law school degree simply shows the person was determined, not lazy.

Child Psychology Masters

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

It seems that everywhere you look, there are schools offering an online masters degree in psychology. I am looking to pursue a masters in child psychology, but am not sure if taking online classes is really the way to go. It also seems from the reading I have done, that I am going to have to get a PhD or PsyD to become licensed, so I am actually looking at quite a bit more school than just the two years it will take to complete a masters program. I am dedicated to child psychology, though, and will continue to search for a program that will help me get a job where I can help others.

Though nothing beats experience what can aid advancement to higher positions in a company is doing a post graduate degree such as a graphic design masters degree. Students who take on a graphic design masters degree do so because they are usually seeking to broaden their knowledge and skills base with an ultimate aim of enhancing their future job prospects. Whilst an undergraduate degree is aimed at establishing a basic core of skills and knowledge a Masters degree in graphic design will examine more completely areas such as design history, theory, criticism and will seek to identify and anticipate research issues that will shape the profession in the future.
