Talking To A Friend With A Dsl Connection
I remember, and it was not too terribly long ago, when one of the most important household expenditures was the long distance phone service. It was really the only way to keep in touch with friends and family far removed from your geographic location. Now with a simple Dsl upgrade, a net camera, and a microphone and now you have no real need for long distance phone services and the fees that you normally get hit with. If the other person you want to talk to has a camera and a mic you can have a face to face conversation. If they don’t then you can just as easily call there phone number with your computer, or you can chat with them via a microphone on your computer. There are many companies that offer DSL connections - for example, if you are in the Southwest or California you can purchase a sbc dsl upgrade from Southwestern Bell. It will likely be added to your phone bill if you already have phone service from SBC.
