Wood as a Hardwood Flooring Material

Wood is by far one of the most popular types of hardwood flooring there is. It looks great and is a great insulator which makes it pleasant to step on even when barefoot. This kind of hardwood flooring however, has several problems associated with it. Without any proper care, it is easily damaged and may even be permanently destroyed. Hardwood flooring cannot typically handle abuse in the way that concrete, tiles, or steel can. The use of under floor utilities may sometimes preclude wood from being used. Insects, water, and temperature fluctuations are also detrimental to wood floorings that have inadequate preparation.
