Doctoral Programs In Applied Economics In PhD Universities
Applied economics involves the application of economics in the real world. Many phd universities in the US conduct doctoral programs in this discipline. The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania conducts doctoral programs in Applied Economics. Students can specialize in a number of areas by joining this program. Areas of research interest include Behavioral Economics, Economics of Risk Management, and Industrial Economics and Business Regulation. It also includes research interests in Public Economics and Political Economy and Urban economics and Real Estate.
Students begin with grounding in economic theory and econometrics and then move on to specialized areas that Wharton faculty trains them in.
