Pendulum Driven Clocks

There are two types of grandfather clocks in this world labelled the Comtoise clocks and the Bomholm clocks. The former were first produced in the French region Franche-Comte in 1680 and continued for the next 230 years. These clocks were generally used to keep the time on farms in France. The other type of grandfather clock is the Bomholm which is Danish by origin. These clocks are pendulum-driven and were being made in the 18th and 19th century. It began in the 1740s when an English ship was stranded on its coast. Recently, the demand for these clocks has been falling.
