Sexual Harassment- Its Adverse Effects On The Victim
One of my colleagues at the office had to resign as circumstances did not allow her to work any longer. It was not that she was incompetent; the reason was just that she was timid; she did not have the guts to raise her voice against the sexual harassment that she had been facing for the last few months.
Now the whole office environment is disturbed as she has resigned abruptly. But after sometime things will be normal in the office but ultimately she is the one who has actually suffered and lived in sexual harassment. She has experienced extreme psychological damage. Despite encouragement from me and a few others, she could not do much to fight back other than resign. Had she been courageous, the culprit would have got a good lesson.
